Almond blossom.

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Wooly bear caterpillar - we brought him inside hoping to witness his metamorphosis... but it turned out that he had been parasitized by wasps.

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Wombat has adopted the big spiky plant as his own.

Dendrobium speciosum = Sydney rock orchid.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Wombat is learning that with time and lots of patience, you CAN get Munchkin to cooperate and go where you want him to... (sometimes) lol

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

"Brother, can you hear me?" Lots of giggles with this game.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Remember the huge, strange spiky plant that took 10 years to flower (post #103)? Instead of growing seed pods, the flowers grew into new baby spiky plants - hundreds or even thousands of them. Wombat loves the hunt and has been gathering them up as they start to fall.

Munchkin is very confident about the slippery dip now and can negotiate it all by himself - even with his hands encumbered.

Sunday, August 23, 2009

More pretty spring pear blossom... love the furry texture of the new leaves.

Michaelia flower

Apricot blossom.

Wombat playing with Mummy's 3kg dumbells.

Stripping off in the autumn sunshine and rubbing dirt into your skin? I think it's a boy thing. The question is, does it make you stronger?

Pretty pink Pigface :D

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Wombat likes the macro setting on my camera as much as I do. This is his close-up of an ant nest - with ant.

Saturday, August 15, 2009

A tiny, colourful little spider on a tree.

Friday, August 14, 2009

Another Wombat masterpiece. I call this one "Welcome to the jungle."

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Wombat has been borrowing my camera. Here he presents a portrait of Mummy and Munchkin.

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Bronzewing feather on sandstone.

(A Bronzewing is a native pigeon.)

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Blossom for my birthday :D

Monday, August 10, 2009

After all the frosts, signs of spring appear. A pair of wooducks, seen through the neighbour's fence.

Sunday, August 9, 2009

Another take on the ice and fire theme... a frozen fire engine :D

Saturday, August 8, 2009

Another early frosty morning... another weed turned glorious by ice and fire (sunlight)... in the country, this one is called 'Farmer's Friend' (due to its habit of sticking its seeds all over you)... in the city it is known as 'Cobbler's Pegs' (possibly because it coats your shoelaces & socks with little 'nails').

Fireweed on a frosty morning.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Did the paddocks in the last dawn photo look cold to you? They were. Today I had to scrape the ice off my windscreen.

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

And yet another amazing dawn... I do love a good sunrise!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Another day at the College of Law, another glorious dawn... (out of focus, because taken through the windscreen while driving lol)

Monday, August 3, 2009

Dawn on the way to the College of Law.
