Pretty flowers for my sister's birthday. These are the native rain iris - they only bloom when heavy rain is coming, so they are our weather forecasters and very popular as a result!

I asked Wombat if we should bring this caterpillar inside and see if we could watch it metamorphise. We haven't had much luck with trying to help caterpillars turn into butterflies.

Wombat said "Let's just let it stay alive!"

So we did.

Lunchtime.
Looking across the park to the College of Law building.

My delicious smoked salmon salad and berry yoghurt. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. On the final day, after the exams were over, I was invited to a local pub for a drink. I decided I'd rather luxuriate in one last salmon salad instead :D

The "sprouts / seeds" on the spiky plant continue to fascinate us. Here they are starting to grow in bunches while still on the plant.

A lovely Iris... I did ask Wombat not to pick it... I guess that's why he took the buds as well.

Baby apricots. At least we usually get to eat some of these when they ripen, though the birds and fruit bats feast as well :D

Baby cherries! Each year I look fondly at them as they emerge and dream of them ripening, but there are never very many and each year the birds get to them first.
