I've started learning to run for the first time in my life. Here I am hot, wet and tired after running for half an hour in the rain (I run at dawn, before the boys wake up). My new bike is also ready to go, though I haven't really tried it yet. Fitness, here I come!

In an attempt to reduce clutter in the bedroom, I stored all the snuggle toys that weren't being regularly played with in one corner, out of the way. Munchkin found them and climbed in, pleased as punch.

He loves to play with softies...

But then big brother Wombat notices me taking a photo and wants in on the action...

and then, of course, he wants it all to himself.

Whoever coined the term "needle in a haystack" never dropped a needle while sitting in a forest of sheoak and pine trees. Trying to sew while watching the boys play - I never did find my needle.

My car has been sadly neglected, these last few months - parked under a black wattle (remember that sap Wombat was playing with a while ago???)

We decided to give "Mummy Car" a belated mother's day present, and wash her. She came up surprisingly clean! The funniest thing, though, was what crawled out to see the new look!

A fuzzywuzzy caterpillar...

leaving a trail of dirty footprints behind him :P

and the lumpy bumpy frog who lives permanently in Mummy Car's boot.

Why I love my Emmaljunga pram!!!

(Two hefty boys, a pile of packages, and the basket underneath is loaded to the hilt too... yet it is still easy to push over the grass, rocks and up the steps!)

If I had to choose my favourite parenting accessory... this would be it!

Wombat gets a little frustrated by photos of snowmen, since he has never seen snow. I am proud of his creativity, however. He was very stubbornly creating a "dirt man", so I helped him add some details which he was rather pleased with.

To redeem myself after the birthday cake fiasco - here is something I did put a lot of effort into. Three cute snails, with crocheted shells!

The snail-racing mat isn't finished yet as I rarely get the chance to use my sewing machine and when I tried to do it in a hurry, it went all snarly on me (needs a good clean and oil).

Instead, the snails are perching here on another birthday present which I put a lot of research into: Georello GearTech. Wombat enjoys turning the handle and watching everything move but finds it frustrating to put together (my job lol). I am hoping we will spend more time creating our own designs together - but we shall have to corral Munchkin first as he keeps trying to eat the pieces. I love the fact that it is completely made in Italy, and can be expanded over time. I really REALLY would have liked to get him the Gears! Gears! Gears! Movin' Monkeys set - he would have found that SO much more fun & played with it non-stop, but I couldn't find a stockist in Australia and shipping from the US was way over my budget.

My next drop for the Toy Society. I suddenly realised we were going to the beach tomorrow, so I grabbed the first piece of fabric I found in my craft cupboard and a bunch of embroidery threads... shortly afterwards this 'tweet' pair of lovebirds were hatched.

I didn't manage to get a good photo of Yeti today - macro or otherwise - so that blessing will just have to keep waiting lol.

Instead, I thought I'd share the cute Valentine we made for him. The template came from DLTK. We traced it onto coloured paper before cutting out, and added our handprints layered (mine, Wombat's and Munchkin's) as wings. I was really pleased with how it turned out - and the way it looks like it wants to give you a great big HUG! Wombat helping with the gluing meant it didn't look much like an owl anymore - looks more like a vulture, actually - but Yeti didn't care. Inside, we wrote "Whooooo loves you? We do! That's whoooooo"

It's a blessing to be able to spend time at home with the boys so we can do crafty things like this whenever we feel like it!

Continuing with the abstract macro blessings :)

You've probably realised by now, but I consider my camera a great blessing! It has released a creative side of me that I never knew existed :D (I mean, obviously, I knew I had a creative side - I don't think I've got a non-creative side lol - I just didn't realise how much I'd love taking photos!)

In case anyone is wondering what I use, it's a Nikon Coolpix 7900, which Yeti bought for me when Wombat was born. The photos I post here are generally straight from the camera (except for a quick resize, of course). I never have time to spend photoshopping, so the most you might get is a brightness/contrast fix if it's really dark.

(The mirror used to take this pic is a little scratched-plastic flower with fabric petals that both the boys love playing with.)
