Pretty purple African Daisy.

It started out as an experiment - painting with bubbles (detergent & food colouring).

But the bubbles were more fun by themselves.

Then Wombat decided to paint the house...

and Munchkin decided to paint himself.

Mummy LongLegs wrapping up her prey.

I've started learning to run for the first time in my life. Here I am hot, wet and tired after running for half an hour in the rain (I run at dawn, before the boys wake up). My new bike is also ready to go, though I haven't really tried it yet. Fitness, here I come!

Dragonfly - he very kindly sat still enough for me to get a good photo!

My weight-loss friend. Mr Magpie is raising a hungry brood of chicks and has started turning up at the back door every morning at breakfast time. This reminds me to give him the boys' scraps rather than eating them myself (since I hate to see them go to waste lol).

Thursday, November 12, 2009

My early Christmas present - a trailer to go behind my new bike (which is also coming for Christmas.) It is also a jogging stroller so I can take both boys for a walk, amuse them and get my exercise all in one go! YIPPEE! We call it "the chariot".

The Dogwood is in flower. Pretty pretty!

A male kingparrot at the bird feeder. The females have bright green heads.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Pretty flowers for my sister's birthday. These are the native rain iris - they only bloom when heavy rain is coming, so they are our weather forecasters and very popular as a result!

Sunday, November 8, 2009

A pair of brown cuckoo doves have been coming to the bird feeder outside the playroom window. If we don't put seed out regularly, they have started following us around to remind us. Here they are perched on the bean support of the veggie garden. They are called cuckoo doves because that is what their call sounds like - not because they don't look after their own eggs.

Once again I am thankful that my boys have VERY strong heads. Munchkin went headfirst down the back stairs. He's going to have a scar there to remember it by but is otherwise unscathed.
